PSYC-622 Stress, Coping, and Emotion (3)This course introduces students to the theory, methods, and applications of stress and coping research, while allowing them to understand and manage their own experiences of stress. Reading assignments and lectures address the nature of psychological stress, its relation to appraisals, coping, and emotion, and the specific methodological challenges of studying stress and coping. It includes models of stress responses, personality, gender, and culture. Personal growth, stress and health, depression, and clinical interventions are also discussed. |
