Topics vary by section. Examines the changing definitions, perceptions, and uses of gender and sexuality in U.S. history. Rotating topics include women's suffrage, images of masculinity, and gay rights. Based on the assumption that gender and sexuality are historically-specific cultural constructs, special attention is paid to their intersection with race, class, and ethnicity. Crosslist: HIST-459 .
