CSC-124 Exploring AI through Programming and Real-World Applications (3)


Interest in artificial intelligence (AI) has grown exponentially in recent years. There is both excitement and concern about this new technology across every sector. This course offers an introductory technical perspective on AI. Students explore the history of AI, its misconceptions, and how AI is already used in daily life. The course introduces programming basics in Python and explores how they can be applied to fundamental machine learning concepts, such as training data, evaluation techniques, and deep learning models. Students examine real-world applications of AI across different sectors such as healthcare and medicine, business and marketing, and smart technology. Special emphasis is placed on AI ethics and societal impact. Students develop practical skills through hands-on projects. AU Core Integrative Requirement: Quantitative Literacy II. Prerequisite: completion of Quantitative Literacy I Â requirement.
