This course focuses on the theory and analytics used to value companies, mergers and acquisitions (M&As), private equity placements, and buyout transactions through case readings and real life cases. The course examines the primary functions of investment banking such as: mergers & acquisitions, LBO and corporate restructuring and the creation of value through financial advisory services. Additionally, students explore the jargon, key players, and institutional perspectives of different transactions through a variety of analyses commonly performed by investment bankers and private equity professionals.
