NEUR-280 Computer Science for Neuroscience

(4)

This course provides an introduction to computer science and the Matlab environment for neuroscientists. The fundamental unit of the brain is the neuron, and the human brain has about 100 billion neurons. The course uses computational fundamentals to consider information processing within a single neuron or across two neurons, the interactions of networks of neurons, and how these networks relate to thought and perception. Usually offered every spring. Prerequisite: NEUR-210 , NEUR-220 , and MATH-221 .
