(FM) May be repeated for credit but not in the same term. Emphasizes fiction film scriptwriting. Students are expected to write a feature-length screenplay during the course of the semester, with attention to structure, character development, visual storytelling, dialogue, and theme. Students also read and review professionally-written screenplays. The workshop format includes lectures, discussions, guest speakers, and critiques of student work. Usually offered every fall. Prerequisite: COMM-382  or COMM-682  or permission of department, and minimum 2.5 GPA.
