Introduction to multivariate analysis emphasizing statistical applications. Includes matrix theory, multivariate distributions, tests of hypotheses, multivariate analysis of variance, principal components, discriminant analysis, canonical correlation, multivariate regression, and related subjects. Usually offered alternate falls (odd years). Prerequisite: STAT-302  or STAT-514  or equivalent. Note: Students should consult the department for advice and placement testing for appropriate mathematics and statistics courses.
