Through examination of diverse perfomative phenomena (urban intervention, theater, demonstration, photography, and film) this course investigates the forceful engagement of performance in the negotiation of memory politics, changing notions of citizenship, human rights activism, and the articulation of youth culture in contemporary Argentina and Chile. Usually offered alternate falls. Prerequisite: upper-level undergraduate Spanish course, or proficiency in Spanish.
