A study of literary works, films and documentaries, and secondary literature with a focus on indigenous cultures, the Panama Canal, the anti-Communist wars, and the presence and meaning of the Afro-Antillean people in the region. Usually offered alternate springs. Prerequisite: admission to MA in Spanish and Latin American Studies or proficiency in Spanish.
