This course examines the basic principles of story development as they apply to the short form. The class focuses on screenwriting fundamentals such as dramatic structure and plot development, characterization, visual scene writing, and how to write effective dialogue. Students learn through practice by writing several short scripts, as well as studying great examples of the short form. Usually offered every spring. May be taken A-F only. Prerequisite:
