Topics vary by section, may be repeated for credit with different topic. An examination of major U.S. police and law enforcement systems and issues. The focus of the course may be either the role of police in society, police-community relations, and special problems in policing, or management and policy issues such as police organization, federalism, police effectiveness, police discretion and use of force, and police accountability.
