The course examines Shakespeare's artistic development, grappling with the issues of his day while experimenting with different dramatic and poetic forms. Rotating topics include Shakespeare and politics, philosophy, theatrical performance, queer theory, and Shakespeare's cultural and artistic legacy. Usually offered every term.
