TEFL-618 Technology for English as a Foreign Language Learning and Teaching (3)


This course exposes students to various technologies available to English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers. Students develop an understanding of the challenges for teachers and students in both high- and low-technology teaching contexts and become critical consumers of commercial language leaning products. Students also experience various new media technologies (e.g., wikis, podcasts, blogs, websites, digital stores, and gaming, among others) for language leaning and theorize what it means to have digital/new media literacy in the twentieth-first century. Finally, students create a teaching plan using computer-assisted language learning (CALL), Internet resources, and new media technologies for various teaching contexts. Grading: A-F only. Prerequisite: TEFL-610 , TEFL-612 , TEFL-613 , and TEFL-614 .
