Race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, and age are key factors in systematic marginalization and inequality. This course examines how some people suffer from inequalities while others benefit from them. It explores how power, privilege, and inequality are maintained through a range of social institutions and daily social interactions. It also cultivates intellectual insight and personal agency. Usually offered every term.
