CSC-310 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (3) A geographic information system (GIS) is a system of hardware, software, data, people, organizations, and institutional arrangements for collecting, storing, analyzing, and disseminating information about areas of the earth. This course provides an introduction to GIS, GIS software, and GIS applications. Usually Offered: fall. Prerequisite: completion of the College Writing Requirement. Note: familiarity with spreadsheets, e-mail, and the World Wide Web required.
