Admission to the Program
Formal admission to the major requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale) and departmental approval.
Students who wish to obtain credentials for teaching grade 712 mathematics may take a 36credit hour second major. Students must have a 3.00 grade point average to be admitted to the second major in secondary education. University Requirements
 120 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or better
 Completion of college writing requirement
 Completion of university mathematics requirement
General Education Requirements
 A total of ten courses, consisting of two courses from each of the five foundational areas
 At least one course from Area Five: The Natural and Mathematical Sciences must include a laboratory science component
 No more than two courses may be taken in the same discipline
Major Requirements
 53 credit hours with grades of C or better
Required (38 credit hours)

Complete 3 credit hours from the following:

Complete 3 credit hours from the following:

Natural and Mathematical Sciences (68 credit hours)
Note: This requirement may be waived for students with more than one major in this department.

Mathematics Majors with a Second Major in Secondary Education

Combined Mathematics (BS) and Mathematics (MA)
