CHEM-636 Clinical Laboratory: Analysis, Quality Assurance and Control (3)


An overview of good laboratory practice for a clinical setting. The course includes actions necessary to provide adequate confidence in test results for a given set of requirements and standards. Emphasis is placed on modern biochemical techniques for the quantitative analysis of biological samples and body fluids, such as the analysis of blood plasma and serum for a wide variety of substances and their use in diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Other topics include statistics, patient preparation, specimen integrity, external proficiency control, internal quality control, analytical goals, and laboratory management. Crosslist: CHEM-436 .
