Topics vary by section. Throughout the long eighteenth century (ca.1688-1832) new literary forms such as the novel and periodical responded to far-reaching philosophical, religious, and political changes; the expansion of empire; and the rise of middle-class literacy and consumer culture. Focus may be on particular literary themes, movements, and ideas. Repeatable for credit with different topic.
