PHYS-440 Experimental Physics (3)

Lectures and laboratory with selected experiments to accompany advanced courses in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, acoustics, optics, and modern physics. Students plan and complete experiments that fit their background and previous training. Students write proposals for each experiment, write up experimental results in the style of a physics journal article, submit one of their laboratory reports to an online journal for peer review, and act as a peer reviewer for other students reports. AU Core Integrative Requirement: Written Communication and Information Literacy II. Prerequisite: PHYS-331, PHYS-351, and completion of Written Communication and Information Literacy I requirement.
