Focusing on Latinx populations and Latinx studies, this course adopts an interdisciplinary framework with a strong sociological foundation. The “Latinx” term helps problematize ethnic/racial categories, as well as gender binaries. The course also explores concepts such as racialization, Latinidad, and ethno-racial identities and coalitions. Crosslist:SOCY-451 and SOCY-651.
