COMM-671 Media Enterprise: Establishing the Enterprise (3)

Media producers are entrepreneurs, and this course provides the fundamental knowledge needed for film and video producers operating as small business entrepreneurs. Topics include establishing a media production company; creating a business plan; basic economics of the media business; finding investors and/or partners; ways of structuring the enterprise; finding and using legal and accounting services; decisions that affect basic overhead costs; corporate and payroll taxes; accounting practices; and personnel considerations.
