HLTH-470 Politics of Public Health (3)

This course explores the relationships between politics, policy, and public health. It examines the politics behind policy initiatives that affect public health and health care systems, especially those associated with chronic disease. Students also learn strategies for influencing political processes. Diverse public health topics such as nutrition, drug use, mental health, reproductive health, the environment, and climate change are discussed. Crosslist: HLTH-670. Usually Offered: fall and spring.
