EDU-759 Emergent Literacy (3)

This course prepares participants for teaching literacy in early grade classrooms. Participants are immersed in the instructional methodology that supports the social, cultural, cognitive, and linguistic aspects of young children’s reading and writing development in the classroom. Emphasis is placed on utilization of assessment and its data to guide instructional planning aligned to K-2 standards. Additionally, participants explore ways technology and new literacy practices are used to support and enhance instruction. Grading: A-F only. Restriction: Teaching (MAT) [City Teaching Alliance].
