Attention is also paid to major contextual influences in development; biological, cognitive, social, and emotional functioning in individual development; and applications to policy issues. Examination of normative developmental processes and intersectional perspectives across the lifespan is emphasized. Students receive a broad overview of key issues in the description and explanation of human behavior and change across the lifespan.
