Fundamentals of algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions with emphasis on applications to problems in business and economics and the natural sciences. AU Core Foundation: Quantitative Literacy I. Usually Offered: fall and spring. Restriction: Registration not allowed in both MATH-160 and MATH-170. Note: Registration eligibility determined by appropriate score on the Mathematics Placement test. Intended primarily for students planning to take MATH-211. No credit toward mathematics major. Students may not receive credit toward a degree for both MATH-160 and MATH-170.
