This course covers classical American philosophers such as Charles Peirce, William James, and John Dewey. Alain Locke, an intellectual spokesperson for the Harlem Renaissance, and Neo-pragmatists such as Richard Rorty and Cornel West are also studied. Crosslist:PHIL-414.
