GOVT-349 The Middle East in Comparative Perspective (3)

Using the insights of comparative politics, this course examines the contemporary constellation of regime types, authority structures, institutions, and state-society relations in the Middle East. It analyzes the success of the powerful and the resistance of various groups bound together by ethnic, regional, religious, class, and gender identities. Prerequisite: GOVT-130  or GOVT-231 .
