HIST-255 Iconic Monuments in World History (3) An introduction to the history of the world’s most iconic monuments and cultural heritage sites, from Mt. Fuji and Easter Island to Machu Picchu and Timbuktu. The course explores not only the peoples who built or gave meaning to these sites in ancient times, but also how the meanings of these sites have been manipulated and reworked for new agendas in the modern era.
