IBUS-204 Multinational Enterprise and Global Capitalism: A Critical Perspective (3) At the center of the evolution of the global economy is the Multinational Enterprise (MNE), a firm that conducts business across national frontiers; its transactions can take many forms including the acquisition of raw materials, the sale and exchange of services such as consulting, transportation or insurance, and the outsourcing of final products and/or components and subassemblies among others. This course examines the evolution of the MNE from the seventeenth century to the present though case analysis and readings with particular emphasis on the challenges that MNEs pose to the future the of the global economy and economic institutions.
