MGMT-604 Protecting the Creative Class in the Face of Technological Innovation (3) Richard Florida defines the creative class as composed of scientists, engineers, university professors, poets, architects, and people in design, education, arts, music, and entertainment, whose economic function is to create new ideas, new technology and/or creative content. Technology changes have dramatically affected the way that consumers interact with entertainment media and content. Students examine these seismic shifts in the creation and distribution of motion pictures, television programming, music, and printed works. The course emphasizes the vast technological and societal changes that have affected songwriters, recording artists, film and television studios, and other content creators in the creative class. Crosslist: MGMT-404 .
