Includes information systems (IS) alignment with corporate strategy, IS planning, IS performance measurement, global outsourcing management, application portfolio management, assessing emerging technologies, managing systems implementation, electronic business, etc. Case studies are used with special emphasis on performance measurement of components of managing an IT department including: selecting standards, staffing strategies, diversity, personnel management, integrating IT systems across global telecommunication systems, change management, and security.
