Admission to the Program
Formal admission to the major requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale) and departmental approval.
Students who wish to obtain credentials for teaching grade 7-12 mathematics may take a 41-credit hour second major. Students must have a 3.00 grade point average to be admitted to the second major in secondary education. Major Requirements
- 53 credit hours with grades of C or better, including at least 28 credit hours at or above 300-level

Statistics (4 credit hours)
Complete 4 credit hours from the following: Elective I (3 credit hours)
Complete 3 credit hours from the following: Elective II (3 credit hours)
Complete 3 credit hours from the following: Elective III (3 credit hours)
Complete 3 credit hours from the following: Natural and Mathematical Sciences (6 credit hours)
Complete a two-course sequence from the following: Note: This requirement may be waived for students with more than one major in this department. Advanced Statistics
Complete 3 credit hours from the following: Mathematics
Complete 6 credit hours from the following, if not taken to fulfill requirements above:
Mathematics Majors with a Second Major in Secondary Education
Required (40 credit hours)

Combined Mathematics (BS) and Mathematics (MA)
