Admission to the Program


Formal admission to the major requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale) and departmental approval.

Major Requirements


  • 53 credit hours with grades of C or better, including 22 credit hours at or above 300-level

Course Requirements


Basic Statistics (4 credit hours)


Complete 4 credit hours from the following:

Intermediate Statistics (3 credit hours)


Complete 3 credit hours from the following:

Track (21 credit hours)


Complete one of the following tracks:

Applied Statistics


Mathematics or Statistics

  • 3 credit hours of approved coursework in mathematics or statistics
Related Field

  • 12 credit hours of approved coursework in a related field

Data Science


Mathematical Statistics


Statistics

  • 6 credit hours of approved statistics coursework at or above 300-level
Mathematics or Statistics

Note: CSC-281  may count toward this requirement.

  • 9 credit hours of approved mathematics or statistics coursework at or above 300-level
