Return to: Academic Programs
Offered by the School of Professional & Extended Studies , this 14.5 credit fall semester program gives AU-bound students admitted as spring freshmen an insider’s perspective on Washington, DC. Based on the highly successful academic model of AU’s Washington Semester Program , the Mentorship Program in DC (MPDC) is grounded in the best practices of experiential and traditional academic learning. All academic credits earned for successfully completed courses in this program are AU credits that apply to the student’s core requirements and/or degree program, allowing the student to graduate in four or fewer years.
As part of an AU Living Learning Community, MPDC students have the opportunity to enjoy the full college experience, including living in a residence hall room, getting involved in events and activities on campus, and having full access to all university services, facilities, and resources besides varsity sports.
For more information, contact 202-895-4936, email mentorship@american.edu, or go to www.american.edu/spexs/mentorship.
