Healthcare Management (Graduate Certificate)

Offered by the School of Professional & Extended Studies , the Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management is a fully online program geared toward mid-career professionals in healthcare fields who seek a deeper knowledge of healthcare transformation and the application of information technology and data analysis in the healthcare industry. Students completing the certificate possess a unique skillset that is highly sought in health systems management organizations within the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. This certificate is multidisciplinary, both in content and orientation, as healthcare strategic science incorporates professional leadership, evaluation science, and information technology.

Admission to the Program


In addition to meeting the minimum university requirements for graduate study, applicants must have earned an undergraduate bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a satisfactory grade point average.

Applicants whose first language is not English must have a satisfactory score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

Students are admitted to the Healthcare Management program in the fall, spring, and summer terms.

Certificate Requirements


  • 12 credit hours of approved graduate coursework with grades of C or better. Grades of C- or D in certificate program courses are not accepted toward the fulfillment of certificate requirements, although these grades will be included in the calculation of the GPA. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA in certificate courses in order to be awarded a certificate. Students in certificate programs must take a minimum of 6 credit hours during each 12-month period and complete the certificate in four years. A maximum of 3 credit hours earned at an accredited college or university may be applied toward the certificate as transfer credit
