SIS Honors

Available through the School of International Service (SIS), the SIS Honors program is designed for a small group of high-performing students who seek a highly challenging academic program. These students take honors colloquia and honors supplements to upper-level SIS courses, and complete a six-credit senior honors project in close consultation with SIS faculty. Students graduate with SIS Honors upon successful completion of degree and program requirements, as well as a cumulative and a major GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Admission to the Program
Students apply during the second semester of their sophomore year. To be eligible for the SIS Honors program, a student must have completed at least 45 credit hours and have a declared SIS major. Students must also have both a cumulative and a major GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Program Requirements
- 12 credit hours of SIS Honors coursework
- 6 credit hours in SIS Honors colloquia, or SIS Honors colloquium and upper-level SIS coursework with approved honors supplement
- 6 credit hours in SIS Honors project, with in-depth research on a particular topic in international studies with support of a faculty member
- Minimum 3.50 major GPA in Global International Relations (BA) or International Studies (BA)
- Minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA
