The American Collegiate at American University (ACDC) program is designed to prepare international students for rigorous academic study and to transfer to an institution of higher education in the U.S. or anywhere in the world.

American Collegiate students enroll in both credit bearing and non-credit bearing courses to improve their academic profile, earning approximately 30 credits transferable to the second year of an undergraduate degree. Students enroll in elective coursework in the following foundation areas: STEM, Business, Finance, Economics, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The program includes coursework in mathematics and college writing, alongside major and elective courses, preparing students to pursue a wide variety of majors after completion of the program. American Collegiate students may also receive additional developmental English language support, if necessary, for successful transfer to competitive institutions of higher education.

ACDC offers holistic support for international students’ long-term success in achieving their educational goals. Additionally, the ACDC program offers acculturation assistance, individualized advising, a first-year experience class, dedicated tutoring services, as well as specialized academic plans, providing a strong first year academic and cultural foundation.
