Data Science (BS)

Offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics , College of Arts and Sciences , the Data Science (BS) prepares students for data analytic positions in academia, government, and industry that require extensive knowledge of statistical and computational tools. The program consists of a technical core and significant coursework within the student’s chosen application area.

Admission to the Program
New freshmen and transfer students are admitted through the university’s Admissions Office. Students currently enrolled in the university who wish to transfer into the Department of Mathematics and Statistics or develop a double major or minor should have a grade point average of 2.50 or higher and the approval of the undergraduate academic advisor. Major Requirements
- 50 credit hours with grades of C or better, including at least 18 credit hours at or above 300-level
