Offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics , College of Arts and Sciences , the Applied Statistics (Graduate Certificate) is designed for individuals who wish to augment or begin studies in applied statistics. Students are trained in the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of numerical data. By enrolling in the certificate program, students build competency in the field of applied statistics that is beneficial to a wide range of careers because it improves individuals’ data analytic skills. Students complete 12 credit hours of approved graduate coursework, which may be transferred into a master’s degree program at AU. Most classes are offered in the evening.

Admission to the Program
Open to students with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Required (6 credit hours)
Electives (6 credit hours)
Note: Students are not permitted to apply STAT-614 Statistical Methods (3) toward certificate requirements.
- 6 credit hours from approved STAT coursework at or above 500-level
