Offered by the Office of Global & Immersive Studies , AU Abroad promotes student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by enhancing the internationalization of the educational experience at American University. Through collaboration with prestigious international universities and select program providers around the world and three AU Centers in Brussels, Madrid and Nairobi, AU Abroad provides substantial, transformational experiences within each undergraduate’s curriculum through intellectually rigorous and culturally enriching international opportunities. AU Abroad programs are distinguished by their academic focus that contributes to the curricular needs of American University as well as by enabling students to integrate with host communities through intensive language instruction, field studies, professional internships, and research opportunities.
