Reading and Language Development (Graduate Certificate)

Offered by the School of Education , the Reading and Language Development (Graduate Certificate) is designed for students seeking knowledge of reading science and evidence-based reading instructional methods. This certificate program prepares students to develop and implement reading instructional programs based on knowledge of reading science and evidence-based reading instruction. Students build and sharpen skills required to support children’s reading acquisition with the goal of ensuring that all students have access to explicit, systematic, and multisensory instructional approaches that support developmentally appropriate and high expectations for reading and academic learning outcomes related to reading. The program emphasizes equity-based reading instructional approaches that are grounded in research on the developmental aspects of reading and language.

Admission to the Program

Open to students with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. Applicants must submit a letter of intent, official transcripts, at least one letter of recommendation, and a resume. Not eligible for F-1 or J-1 visa sponsorship.
