Gender Analysis in Economics (Graduate Certificate)

Offered by the Department of Economics , College of Arts and Sciences , the Gender Analysis in Economics (Graduate Certificate) is focused on the application of gender analysis to different fields of economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, labor economics, public finance, development, and international trade and investment, among others. It prepares graduate students and professionals for careers in higher education, domestic and international research institutions, and government agencies that require economic analysis from a gendered perspective.
A hybrid option of this certificate is also available. Students would complete 9 credit hours of on-campus coursework during the first semester of the certificate, and 6 credit hours of online coursework during the second semester of the certificate, which may be during the summer term. F-1 and J-1 student participation in the hybrid program is strictly regulated by the US government. F-1 and J-1 students must leave the US at the completion of the first semester to stay in compliance with the US federal regulations.

Admission to Program
Open to students and professionals who have an Economics (MA) or equivalent, or have completed the following prerequisites:
Certificate Requirements
- 15 credit hours with grades of C or better, including at least 6 credit hours at or above 600-level
- Compliance with all regulations for a certificate (Graduate Academic Regulations 4.11 , 5 , 6 )
