Offered by the Department of Government , School of Public Affairs , the Lincoln Scholars program, culminating in the Political Thought (Undergraduate Certificate), uses classic and contemporary texts in politics, philosophy, economics, and literature to foster discussion about moral and political controversies in a context of intellectual diversity. Students study foundational texts while learning how to talk with colleagues of different viewpoints.

Admission to the Program
New students apply before they arrive on campus in the fall of their first year. Under some circumstances, students may also be admitted at the beginning of their second semester in the university. Due to the intensive, cohort-based nature of the program, it is not possible to transfer into the program at other times. Required (9 credit hours)
