Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Minor)

Offered by the Department of World Languages and Cultures , College of Arts and Sciences , the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) (Minor) aims to prepare students to teaching English as an additional language (EAL) in the U.S. and globally. It has a unique focus on service learning and equity and offers TESOL teaching methods courses that support students in developing their practical teaching skills. The TESOL minor does not lead to teaching licensure in U.S. public schools.

Minor Requirements

24 credit hours with grades of C or better, a minimum of 9 credit hours at or above 300-level, and at least 12 credit hours unique to the minor
Maximum of 12 credit hours of TESL coursework at or above 400-level may be shared with the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Undergraduate Certificate)

Complete 9 credit hours of TESL coursework at or above 400-level from the following:
