Writing and Rhetoric (Minor)

Offered by the Department of Literature , College of Arts and Sciences , the Writing and Rhetoric (Minor) further develops students’ writing knowledge and abilities by exploring the intersections of writing and rhetoric with a variety of other disciplines. The minor supports students’ academic and future professional work, introducing and emphasizing the significance of writing and rhetoric in research, public and civic life, pedagogy, and the technical realm. Students engage with rhetorical theory and practice and consider the implications of writing and rhetoric for their participation in academic, vocational, and avocational discourse communities.

Minor Requirements
- 18 credits with grades of C or better, a minimum of 9 credit hours at or above 300-level, and at least 12 credit hours unique to the minor
