STAT-320 Biostatistics (3) This course introduces statistical methods used within the fields of biology, medicine, and public health. Students develop and use methods for data collected from designed experiments and observational studies. Statistical models covered include ANOVA, multiple regression, analysis of covariance, and nonparametric methods. Emphasis is placed on determining the appropriate statistical model, understanding the assumptions of the model, assessing whether the assumptions are reasonable for a given study design and data, improving the model if necessary, and communicating the results of an analysis. Statistical software is integrated into the course for exploration, analysis, and demonstration of concepts. AU Core Foundation: Quantitative Literacy I. AU Core Integrative Requirement: Quantitative Literacy II. Usually Offered: spring. Prerequisite: STAT-202 or STAT-203 . Restriction: Registration not allowed in both STAT-320 and STAT-302 . Note: Students may not receive credit toward a degree for both STAT-320 and STAT-302 . Completion with C or better fulfills only Quantitative Literacy I or Quantitative Literacy II requirement, not both.
