EDU-757 Reading, Writing, and Language Development (2)


This course provides a foundational understanding of the ways children develop in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Participants are immersed in the social and cultural perspectives related to literacy development, the developmental stages of literacy, the five components of reading instruction (phonetic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension), and instructional methods and materials for supporting the literacy development of students with diverse language and learning needs.
