COMM-701 Graduate Seminar in Film Theory and Practice (3)

This seminar focuses on the evolution of film theory and criticism. It explores early theorists as well as contemporary ones and examines the relationship between theory and production. It also focuses on the close-reading or deconstruction primarily of fiction and nonfiction films. Students produce a short film exploring a theory, genre, or filmmaker. Restriction: Communication: Producing Film, Television, and Video (MA), Film and Media Production (MA), or Film and Media Arts (MFA).
