EDU-611 Critical Social Theory for International Education Practice (3)

Critical interrogation of social theories that have shaped educational institutions, policies, and practice globally, including liberal capitalist, postcolonial, and humanist theories among others. Students investigate theories of social and cultural reproduction, economic development, systems thinking, and decolonization. Special attention is paid to the connection between social theory and practice, and contemporary educational issues globally. Usually Offered: spring.
