GOVT-354 AI Policy and Governance (3)


Students explore perspectives on the legal, ethical, and policy implications arising from the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), as this technology becomes more ubiquitous. Students are exposed to various perspectives on AI policy, in use cases in different industries, and ways of thinking about the balancing act of policies promoting innovation, economic growth, and enhanced human knowledge, with the various potential risks presented by AI. Students identify overarching policy and ethical considerations arising in various use cases of AI, and evaluate existing policy frameworks, ethical considerations, and identify gaps in laws. The course focuses on core themes of responsible innovation across industry discussions. Usually Offered: fall and spring. Grading: A-F only.
